About the role

Academic Work is seeking a Senior Delivery Manager on behalf of a leading Nordic financial organization. This role offers the opportunity to be part of one of the region’s largest and most complex technology transformation programs. The multi-year initiative focuses on consolidating core banking systems across multiple countries, transitioning from legacy platforms to a modern, unified solution. This is a unique chance to gain in-depth expertise in core banking transformation while contributing to a high-impact project shaping the future of banking in the Nordics. This role is integral to the success of the transformation program, offering the opportunity to develop expertise in dependency management, large-scale program delivery, and cutting-edge banking systems, while working on a project that will have a lasting impact on the organization and the Nordic banking sector.

Work tasks

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Actively engage with surrounding programs and service areas to enable the business outcomes outlined in the strategic roadmap, building strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensuring alignment across teams.
  • Delivery Orchestration & Risk Management: Oversee end-to-end delivery, managing dependencies, tracking progress, identifying risks, and escalating issues to ensure timely completion of key milestones.
  • Roadmap Communication & Planning: Clearly communicate the strategic roadmap, timelines, and milestones to delivery partners, ensuring alignment on impact and requirements for external teams and service areas.
  • Alignment & Resource Planning: Work with domains, external teams, and technology departments to align delivery plans, secure workforce commitment, and ensure timely delivery of key milestones.
  • Dependency Reporting & Process Improvement: Manage regular dependency reporting, track status and escalations, and continuously improve the dependency management process to drive efficiency.
  • Support Deployment & Migration: Collaborate with release management and implementation teams to support system deployments, product offers, and account migration activities in line with the strategic roadmap.

We are looking for

  • Someone with strong leadership skills and the ability to organize, make decisions under pressure, and resolve conflicts quickly.
  • Someone with excellent communication skills, who is able to explain complex topics clearly to various stakeholders and build trust across teams.
  • Someone with extensive experience in large transformation projects, ideally in core banking and financial services, who can manage full delivery cycles.
  • Someone with the ability to plan long-term projects, coordinate teams, and manage risks effectively.
  • Someone experienced in working with large, distributed teams across different locations and cultures.
  • Someone with experience in core banking systems (e.g., Temenos, SAP) and leading digital transformation projects in the financial sector (meritorious, not a requirement).
